Image to HD
Why image to HD, and not clone to HD? You can clone your main HD to a second HD of same or larger size. The benefit, if your main HD actually physically fails you can simply switch HDs. the down side, is you are giving up the use of a perfectly good HD. Cause if you clone the main HD to the second HD, your not going to want to touch the second HD. Also for full protection you would want to clone at least every few days, as the system changes. Cloning is not what you want for back up, unless you need to be able to get back on line in seconds, then you should look in to RAID.
We will be using Partition to image. By using this method you will still have access to your second HD. To start, make a boot disk. click here to get a crash curse. Now use the boot disk to boot your computer. From the A: prompt type Ghost. You will be in the Ghost GUI (Graphical user interface).
To make an image file of your main OS partition, select Partition to image.
Now select the HD that you want to back up
